Summary
The water/lye pair has properties similar to those of the water/lithium bromide pair used in absorption plant. As the solubility range is wider, this pair can be used in absorption plant in heat pump applications, for higher temperatures. A prototype with plate exchangers and a heating capacity of 11 kilowatts has been built and tested. The article provides discussion of the results obtained.
