Comparative COP evaluation on the advanced ammonia-water absorption heat pump.

Summary

Ammonia-water advanced cycles, a GAX (generation absorber heat exchange) cycle, a hybrid cycle which was constructed with a basic cycle and a mechanical compressor, and a GAX hybrid cycle, were compared with their COP calculated by cycle simulation. In the air-conditioning mode, it was found that the GAX hybrid cycle was the most efficient cycle. And it was found that the difference between condensing temperature and evaporating temperature influenced the cooling COP. In the heating mode no cycle has any advantage to other cycles.
