Summary
This paper investigates the performance of a refrigeration system using hydrocarbon refrigerants compared with that of CFC refrigerants, with specific reference to a 2-stage cascade system. A computer program has been developed for the purpose. A typical 2-stage cascade system using R22/R13 is considered and compared with that using propane (R290) and ethylene (R1150).
