FOR THE PLATE-FIN-TYPE HEAT EXCHANGER, THE EXTERNAL CONFIGURATION AND THE BASIC LAYOUT ARE FIXED. FURTHERMORE, DUE TO THE MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUE OF THE FINS, THERE IS ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF CUTTING TOOL GEOMETRIES WHICH MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO DEVELOP AN EFFECTIVE DESIGN STRATEGY. THE SYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE THE DIMENSIONS OF COMPONENTS AND SUB-ASSEMBLIES.
