Condensation heat transfer in annular flow: a new predictive model for pure fluids.

Author(s) : CAVALLINI A., CENSI G., DEL COL D., et al.

Summary

The paper presents a new predictive model to compute the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop during annular flow condensation inside smooth tubes when operating with pure or blended halogenated refrigerants, including the new high pressure HFC fluids, for which the existing predictive methods prove to be quite inadequate. Predictions from this new procedure are compared both with present authors' experimental data and with a wide experimental data bank from independent authors; excellent agreement is demonstrated in almost all cases. Refrigerants R22, R134a, R125, R32, R236ea, R407 and R410A are examined.
