Summary

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the continuous production characteristics of slurry ice by the use of a horizontal oscillating cooled wall immersed in a ethylene-glycol aqueous solution. Two types of separating mechanisms of ice layers were observed due to the concentration of the solution and the oscillation motion of the cooled wall. The operating conditions for continuous production of slurry ice were also determined.
