Summary
THE PURPOSE OF THE TESTS WAS TO ESTIMATE THE POSSIBLE STORAGE OF RED CHICORY DURING 60 TO 90 DAYS IN NORMAL AIR OR IN CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT INDIRECT COOLING IS SUFFICIENT UP TO 40-50 DAYS ; FOR LONGER PERIODS, IT IS NECESSARY TO USE CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE (3% OXYGEN). IN THIS CASE THE PRODUCTS SHOULD BE SORTED OUT AT THE END OF STORAGE.
