THE ESTABLISHED PRACTICE OF PRECOOLING AND LOW-TEMPERATURE STO RAGE OF FRUIT INDICATES THAT THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. ALTHOUGH LOW STORAGE TEMPERATURES ARE PREFERRED, PROVIDING THE FRUIT IS NOT FROZEN, PRECAUTIONS ARE NECESSARY AS THE LOW TEMPERATURE MAY ADVERSELY AFFECT THE FRUIT.
