Summary

After encapsulation in alginate, pear axillary tips were cryopreserved with liquid nitrogen. After rewarming, the development possibilities were examined. These are increased if the plant has been cold-acclimated for 8 to 12 weeks. Results vary according to the operation mode and to the cryoprotectant.
