Cryopreservation of haematopoietic progenitor cells for autologous and allogeneic transplantation.

Summary

The paper presents the results of a cryopreservation study of this type of cells. DMSO at a final concentration of 10% is applied as cryoprotectant, at a controlled temperature in a programmable freezer and the storage in liquid nitrogen or in a mechanical freezer (-80 °C). The average recovery for CFU-GM after thawing was of 71-93%.
