Danfoss energy savings solution for supermarkets: energy consumption trial for refrigeration systems.
Author(s) : PAPUC R.
Summary
Since the climate change, many companies have started to promote products and solutions to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint. Danfoss, as a leading supplier to the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry, with a product range which is among the most complete in the world, is fully involved in developing new products and solutions that meets the needs for efficiency and affordability while operating in a safe, environmentally responsible way. To prove the efficiency and cost benefits of such solution, in Romania two Danfoss refrigeration installations for supermarkets were compared, one based on high end electronics controls solution with electronic expansion valves (AKV) and the other with low end electronics control solution with traditional expansion valves (TEV). In order to measure, analyse and compare energy consumption between two stores, on both supermarkets were installed energy meters and monitoring units. For this trial were chosen stores located in cities ARAD (with AKV) and SUCEAVA (with TEV), identical in size of sales area, equipped with exactly same number of assets (same cabinets types and cold rooms) and compressor power packs.
