Summary
The Chinese standard GBJ 19-1987 "Design standard on heating, ventilation and air conditioning" has been now revised. It will raise the fresh air requirements and control indoor relative humidity at a lower level. A huge additional cooling load will be added, especially in eastern and southern China. A desiccant-based preconditioning technology has been developed, which will be promoted in this country to isolate and solve this problem in office buildings at a reasonable cost.
