Design and evaluate finned tube bundles.
Author(s) : GANAPATHY V.
Type of article: Article
Summary
In the petrochemical industries, finned tube bundles are widely used in heat exchangers, air coolers, waste heat boilers and fired heaters where energy transfer occurs between clean flue gases and a fluid with a high heat-transfer coefficient. They have several advantages including compactness, low gas pressure drop and low weight for a given duty compared to bare tube bundles. Examples are given on how to discuss them.
