Summary
LNG carriers of 125,000 m3 type, delivered for the Australian North West Shelf LNG Project, may be qualified as a new generation of LNG carrier. Their major characteristics are: 1) a 4-spherical cargo tank system has been adopted instead of conventional 5 or 6 tanks for this class; 2) a boil-off gas total control system has been realized by the combination of a reduced boil-off rate and an LNG vaporising system; 3) an onboard local area network has been applied for all the ship's control, monitoring and administration functions.
