IIR document

Design of a flow path for a display case using computational fluid dynamics.

Summary

The article deals with the study of heat transfer inside refrigerated display cabinets. The solution of the transfer equations is based on the combination of an iterative, elementary finite-volume numerical procedure using dependent variables and a two-equation turbulence closure model. Aerodynamic diagrams and temperature curves are presented for different configurations of the inner space. The air flow in display cabinets plays an important part in the temperature distribution which is essential to maintain the quality of stored food.
