Determination of the thermophysical properties of a solid-liquid secondary refrigerant used in a cooling loop.

Détermination des propriétés thermophysiques d'un mélange frigoporteur solide-liquide utilisé dans une boucle de refroidissement.

Author(s) : BEL O., BERON R., LALLEMAND A.

Summary

If the secondary refrigerant is a diphasic blend in the form of a slush for transport, there is the possibility of latent-heat storage, in order to provide optimum management of the energy consumption of the cooling loop. Setting up an enthalpy-level model on the basis of the thermodynamic state of the slush provides a calculation element for determining the energy potential of the volume of storage. The thermo-rheological behaviour of the secondary refrigerant is analyzed in an experimental loop. The measures carried out are presented, along with some results, for a water-ethanol blend.
