Development and application of physically-based equations of state for pure fluids and fluid mixtures.

Type of monograph: Doctoral thesis

Summary

This doctoral dissertation at the Martin-Luther-Universität, Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, presents the BACKONE equation of state family, which is particularly suited to predicting the data of linear non-polar, dipolar and quadrupolar fluids. Its efficiency is demonstrated through the successful use of argon, ethylene and R152a. Simulations of non-polar-dipolar mixtures were used to develop and verify a dipolar mixture rule. The widening of the concept from pure substances to mixtures is discussed in depth in the last part of the work. For mixtures one-fluid approaches were used. The results, with the examples of methane-ethane, methane-argon, and xenon-methyl fluoride, are presented.
