Development and construction of a pilot lined cavern for LNG underground storage.

Summary
The Daejon LNG pilot cavern represents a further important step in the validation of the technology of lined LNG underground storage. Even if the cavern is small, this project will permit to address, if any, the potential critical points for construction, start up and operation of such new technology. Besides, the study of the different parameters which will be recorded during operation will increase the knowledge of the partners in the behaviour of the containment system and its surrounding rock in order to be able to tackle an industrial project in the near future.
