Development of desiccant cooling systems utilizing low temperature regeneration.

Author(s) : COELLNER J. A.

Summary

A cold production system with evaporation of water in air dried by having been passed over a hygrometric product, is presented. The product used here is a titanium zeolite patented by Engelhard Corporation, of which the absorption capacity of water vapour in air is much greater than that of aluminosilicates widely used. It is possible to work with lower temperatures for regeneration. The COP is improved. Absorption and regeneration happen in a rotary unit, half way through the absorption process, half way through the regeneration process. The developments being considered are described.
