Development of hydrofluoroethers as alternative refrigerants and other applications.

Author(s) : SEKIYA A., MISAKI S.

Summary

At a previous conference, the authors showed that hydrofluoroethers have the ability to replace refrigerants. In this paper, they report further research results on these refrigerants and they present an interesting application of hydrofluoroethers in another field. Fluorinated ethers have useful properties as candidates for CFC and HCFC alternatives. Among the fluorinated ethers, four compounds were selected as potential refrigerants, and thirteen compounds were selected as potential blowing agents.
