Summary
This is the first part of a paper dealing with properties of so-called "service blends" for refrigerating systems using HCFC working fluids, especially R22. These drop-in refrigerants may be an interesting cost-effective alternative instead of the full retrofit to HFC refrigerants, because there is no need to replace oil and the main components of the refrigerating system. See also this issue of the Bulletin of the IIR, references 2010-1760 and 1761.
