Summary

TEST DATA WERE OBTAINED ON THE HYDRAULIC RESISTANCE OF BULK FENNEL AND PARSLEY LAYERS OF DIFFERENT DENSITIES. THE CURVES FOR DRYING IN COLD AIR ARE GIVEN FOR FROZEN PARSLEY AND FENNEL. THE EFFECT OF THE DRYING YIELD OF PRETREATMENTS WAS STUDIED (WASHING AND GRINDING). THE IRREGULARITY OF THE DRYING OF VARIOUS PARTICLES IS SHOWN. AS REGARDS QUALITY, FREEZE-DRYING IN AIR IS BETTER THAN DRYING BY HEAT. THE PRODUCT DRIED IN THIS WAY IS SIMILAR TO VACUUM FREEZE-DRIED PRODUCTS.
