SUPPLEMENTAL DYNAMIC EXERGY DESTRUCTIONIN ISOTHERMAL IRREVERS IBLE HEAT PUMP-AND/OR REFRIGERATION CYCLES CAN BE EVALUATED BY METHODS DEVELOPED FOR ISOTHERMAL STATICALLY-REVERSIBLE CYCLES. IT IS EVALUATED AND AVERAGED OVER THE PERIOD OF TRANSIENT RESPONSE AND ADDED TO THE STEADY-STATE AMOUNT CALCULATED BY CONVENTIONAL METHODS OF ENGINEERING THERMODYNAMICS. FOR NON-ISOTHERMAL HEAT-EXCHANGE PROCESSES (SUBCOOLING, HEAT REGENERATION, ETC) DYNAMIC EXERGY DESTRUCTION CAN BE EVALUATED USING THE METHOD OF < MEAN PLANIMETRIC TEMPERATURES > OR MPT'S.
