Summary

THERMAL STORAGE SYSTEMS ARE BECOMING WIDELY ACCEPTED TECHNIQUES FOR ELECTRICAL UTILITY LOAD MANAGEMENT. THE PAPER DISCUSSES THE PRINCIPLES OF ICE HARVESTING EQUIPMENT AND ITS APPLICATION TO A 22,000 M2 MERCHANDISE DISTRIBUTION CENTER LOCATED IN COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA. THE REDUCTION IN ELECTRICAL DEMAND AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS ARE DEMONSTRATED.
