Summary
During 1995-1996, no skin blackening and no defects were found in controlled atmospheres with CO2 at 1.2 or 3% and O2 at 1.2 or 3% during storage for 90 days. During 1996-1997, colour and quality features such as weight loss, firmness and soluble solids content were well maintained in controlled-atmosphere combinations of 1.2% CO2 + 1.2% O2 and 1.2% CO2 + 3% O2 during storage for 210 days.
