Summary

Investigations were carried out at the Department of Food Sciences and Technology, College of Agricultural Technology, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, India, during 1997-98 to find out the effects of packaging materials and pretreatments on the shelf life of pawpaw fruits. The most promising treatments were the use of intact film wrap and ecofresh wrap, which extended storage life up to 15 and 9 days, respectively.
