Effect of individual plastic films on the ripening control of avocado fruits "Hass".

Summary
Results show that normal evolution of both respiration and ethylene occurs at 20 deg C for wrapped and unwrapped fruits, but a 4-day delay of the climacteric peak was observed in those fruits wrapped in plastic film. Wrapped fruits also showed a considerable reduction in weight and texture losses after 4-weeks of cold storage as well as after 15 days in ripening-promoting conditions.
