Effect of sprays with growth regulators in quality of "Navel" oranges quality during cold storage.

Effet des régulateurs de croissance sur la qualité des oranges "Navel" pendant leur entreposage frigorifique.

Summary

Navel orange trees were sprayed at colour break with isobutyl ester of 2,4D-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4D) at 16 ppm and gibberellic acid (GA3) at 10 ppm separately and in combination. The physico-chemical analysis carried out just after harvest at the end of cold storage and after a seven days shelf-life, gave good results. Fruit size, rind thickness, juice percentage and total soluble solids were not affected. Acidity contents were lower and vitamin C highest in treated fruits.
