Effect of the crop, growing technologies, and harvest conditions on keeping quality.

Influence du matériel végétal, des techniques culturales et des conditions de récolte sur l'aptitude à la conservation.

Author(s) : THICOIPE J. P.

Summary

Farmers can intervene at many steps in an effort to obtain high-quality harvests; their decisions can include: selection of varieties, growing technologies and production time, feeding and sanitary protection, and harvest conditions (stage, hour, etc.). Mechanization is still tricky since mechanical injuries can occur. Proper selection of options will guarantee good keeping quality.
