Summary

Cold treatment at 1 deg C for 16 days is necessary for disinfesting of oranges and lemons of fruit flies. The effects of cold on fruit quality during storage were investigated. Storing for 16 days at 1 deg C followed by transport at 10 deg C and marketing within 6 weeks was recommended.
