Summary

This volume of the proceedings contains 40 papers (of which 6 are in English and 3 are in French) presented in section one "Thermodynamics and heat transfer" of this conference, coordinated by the Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer Department of the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, held in Bucharest, on November 28-30, 2001. The topics vary from thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics to process analyses, thermo-hydraulic systems and process and equipment optimization, taking into account environment protection, energy savings and compactness of systems and equipment. Extract from the table of contents: development of compression-resorption heat pumps; thermal performances of wall elements when the mechanical stiffness is constrained; design of a wet compression-resorption heat pump for steam generation; parametric study of a wet compression-resorption heat pump; thermodynamics and physical properties of natural refrigerants; use of renewable energy for passive house heating.
