Summary

A case study booklet explaining how other countries and organizations have approached and addressed different aspects of halon management. The topics range from the adoption of alternatives in different sectors (aviation, electronic facilities, military) to how a country organized a network of stakeholders and institutions to steer the halon phase-out (Poland) to the experience of specific organizations in different aspects of halon management (NASA, Alang Shipbreaking Yard). Additionally, guidance is provided on key issues such as decommissioning halon systems. This document is part of a series of halon management services provided by the OzonAction Programme, which also includes a Self Help Guide for Low Volume Consuming Countries and the new B2B halon banking web portal (www.halontrader.org).
