Summary
In order to provide heating in winter, solar thermal collectors can be used. However, when a hot fluid circulates in such collectors, all the recovered heat is lost because of the low outside temperature. If the collector temperature is lowered thanks to a heat pump, there is no longer a loss. The lack of glazing becomes a benefit and makes it possible to capture heat by natural convection from outside air and rain, even without any sun 24 hours a day. The energy fence constitutes a heating solution, which is aesthetic and valuable from an energy point of view when used in combination with a brine-to-water heat pump.
