Summary
Computer-controlled evaporator fan cycling was tested in four apple storage rooms for one month and gave significant energy savings. Replacement of the thermostatic control of refrigerant temperature in the evaporator by a computer-controlled ramping sequence improved long term fruit storage conditions.
