Summary
This report of the World Energy Council, in collaboration with ADEME (France), identifies in particular the policy measures, which have proven to be the most effective, and can be recommended to countries which have recently embarked on the development and implementation of energy demand management policies. It presents and evaluates energy efficiency policies in 63 countries, with a specific focus on five policy measures: minimum energy efficiency standards for household electrical appliances; innovative energy efficiency funds; voluntary/negotiated agreements on energy efficiency/CO2; local energy information centres; packages of measures.
