ENERGY SAVING IN REFRIGERATION.
Author(s) : LORENTZEN G.
Summary
CURRENT PRACTICE OFTEN SEEMS TO BE DECADES BEHIND, THE NEED FOR ENERGY ECONOMY HAS HARDLY BEEN RECOGNIZED AS YET IN THE DAILY ROUTINE. UNNECESSARY POWER WASTAGE SEEMS TO BE THE RULE RATHER THAN THE EXCEPTION, AS A RESULT OF UNSUITABLE PROCESS DESIGN, EXCESSIVE HEAT TRANSFER LOSSES, PRIMITIVE CONTROL CONCEPTS ETC. THERE ARE INDICATIONS THAT THIS SITUATION IS DUE FOR A CHANGE. THE NEXT FEW YEARS WILL PROBABLY SEE AN ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT TOWARDS MORE EFFICIENT SYSTEMS. SOME POSSIBLE TRENDS ARE IDENTIFIED AND DISCUSSED IN THE PAPER.
