Summary

This paper reports the test and analysis results of an evaporative air cooler filled with corrugated holed aluminium foil. The design and performance parameters of the cooler, e.g. the characteristics of air flow through the cooler and the effectiveness of evaporative cooling, are presented using mathematical equations and figures. The new combination of air coolers and chillers is also analysed. The calculations show that the new combination has achieved a 39% increase in the coefficient of performance of air-cooled chillers in hot and dry areas of China.
