Summary
Based on the epsilon-NTU method, the paper develops a mathematical model of condenser and simulates the heat transfer performances and the resistance characteristics of two condensers with different refrigerant flow arrangements. The results show that the location tube-wall temperature distribution along the tube length agrees with experimental results recorded in previous literature, that the maximum total pressure error between the numerical simulation and the experimental values is 7%, and that the mathematic model can be used to compare the effect of flow arrangements on the performance of condensers.
