EU and US legislations related to fish and fishery products.

Type of article: Article
Summary
EU and US legislations related to fish and fishery products are generally similar in several production zones. However, in the European Union, even though production and dispositions for fishery products relative to markets fall under EU legislation, the products can remain in the "non-harmonized products" category. This means that in addition to EU legislation, national legislations can also be applied. In the first part of this article, the authors give an overview of both legislations applied to fish and fishery products. See also this Bulletin, reference 2007-0269.
