Summary

Two specific ministerial orders deal with self-inspection of seafood products, i.e., legislative order n. 531-92, ex-directive n. 91-493-CEE; and Italian Health Ministry note n. 600.7-2448-AG.50-3481 dated July 3, 1995, ex-decision n.94-356-CEE. There is also a general order on all food problems, i.e., Health Ministry circular n. 21 dated July 28, 1995, within the framework of directive 93-43-CEE. The Italian national fishing-sector association, Assoittica Italia has undertaken to draft and promote a handbook on safe refrigerated storage of fish products.
