Summary
In this paper, a new natural gas liquefaction cycle that can be driven by a refrigeration industry standard compressor is proposed, which has low operating pressure compared with the traditional LNG process. The detailed exergy analysis was performed on this low-pressure LNG cycle to know its thermodynamic performance. Detail exergy loss for each unit of this low-operating pressure cycle was also presented. The results show that the LNG cycle which is driven by a low-pressure refrigeration compressor can also provide high efficiency.
