Experience with ice slurry.

Summary

4 different methods have been evaluated on ice slurry generation. The thermophysical properties such as density, heat capacity, conductivity and viscosity have been evaluated for ice slurries. Pressure drop measurements have been performed for five different brine solutions. Heat transfer correlations for water/ethanol and water/potassium carbonate ice slurries have been established. Different ice concentration measurement methods have been tested and evaluated. Components such as pumps and valves have been tested with different ice concentrations. Ice slurry accumulation has been evaluated with and without agitated tank configuration. Temperature control of refrigerated display cases and cabinets has been investigated. Ice slurry cooled condenser for carbon dioxide has been tested. Modification of ice concentration has been studied.
