Summary

In this article, the influence of the main operating variables on the energetic characteristics of a vapour-compression plant, based on experimental results, is addressed. The experimental tests were performed on a single-stage vapour-compression plant using three different working fluids, R134a, R407C and R22. The operating variables considered were the evaporating pressure, the condensing pressure and the superheating degree at the compressor inlet. The performance characteristics monitored to analyse the energetic performance are the refrigerating capacity and the power requirements of the reciprocating compressor. The main experimental results obtained are presented.
