Summary

A visualization experiment was conducted to determine the flow state of the air around a wire and tube condenser, by using reagent chemical TiCL4. It was found that the flow state was turbulent. Based on the experiment, a mathematic model was established to calculate the air temperature distribution around the wire and tube condenser. Numerical heat transfer software was applied to calculate the air temperature field in the stable state. The calculation results were well in agreement with the experimental data. The new model presented can be used to optimize the design of a wire-and-tube condenser.
