Air-cooled condensers.

[In Dutch. / En néerlandais.]

Author(s) : INFANTE FERREIRA C. A.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The article outlines the expected two-phase flow patterns of condensing refrigerant in air-cooled condensers and gives heat transfer equations for the different flow regimes. The effects of inner-finned tubes and of enhanced heat transfer in surfaces on condenser performance are discussed. The effect of hot gas superheating on condenser performance is highlighted. An economic evaluation is drawn, based on initial and energy costs and an optimum temperature difference is determined. A comparison is made between normally aspirated and high- and low-speed forced-draught fan condensers.
