Experimental simulation of weight losses in cold storage.
Author(s) : FONTANA A., FORNASIERI E., MINOTTO G., PANOZZO G.
Summary
A simple mathematical model of the heat and mass transfer processes involved in the refrigerated storage of foodstuffs, leads to the conclusion that the weight loss decreases when the surface temperature of the air cooler is lowered, if the refrigerating power is controlled by on-off operation of the air cooler. From this theory a very remarkable reduction in the weight loss can result, but this is obtained at the expense of the energy efficiency of the refrigerating plant.
