Experimental study of acoustic emission in pool boiling.

Author(s) : BARTOLINI R., SCARPA F.

Summary

The vapour bubble generation in boiling heat transfer gives rise to sound emission depending on different regimes, fluid properties and boiling equipment characteristics. An analysis has been done on the acoustic signal coming from a hydrophone and produced by a pool nucleate subcooled boiling of water at atmospheric pressure. This analysis is done on the power density spectra obtained by means of fast Fourier transforms applied to the numerical sampled data.
