EXPERIMENTS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF MIXTURES BASED ON HFC152A IN DOMESTIC FREEZER EQUIPMENT.

Summary

TERNARY BLENDS, CONSISTING OF THE HCFC22 AND HCFC124 AND HFC152A, ARE CONSIDERED AS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR R12 IN THIS SECTOR ; THEIR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IS STATED TO BE ROUGHLY EQUAL TO THAT OF R12. CALCULATIONS ARE PERFORMED TO STUDY THE EFFICIENCY OF DIFFERENT BLEND AND MIXTURE COMPOSITIONS. THE HIGH EFFICIENCY CALCULATED FOR THE BLENDS IS CAUSED BY THE PRESENCE OF R152A. BASED ON CALCULATED RESULTS, TWO TERNARY BLENDS ARE SELECTED FOR FURTHER STUDY, AND ALSO A TWO-REFRIGERANT MIXTURE CONSISTING OF R124 (30%) AND R152A (0%. THE EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION OF THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THE MIXTURES -COMPARED TO THAT OF R12 -IS PERFORMED ON STATIC UPRIGHT FREEZERS, EACH EQUIPPED WITH A CAPILLARY TUBE OF A DIFFERENT CAPACITY. THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE APPLIANCES IS DETERMINED FOR THREE AMBIENT (16, 25 AND 32 DEG C) AND TWO APPLIANCE AIR TEMPERATURES (-21 AND -15 DEG C). THE RESULTS ARE GIVEN.
