Extending storage of apricots.
Author(s) : WEKSLER A., LURIE S., KOSTO I.
Summary
Apricot fruits sprayed with gibberellin (GA; 100 ppm) were harvested at 2 maturity stages and stored at 0 °C. Fruits were also stored in controlled atmosphere with carbon dioxide concentrations of 5-20% at 3% oxygen. Spraying GA 2-3 weeks before harvest delayed peel colour development and fruit softening without affecting soluble solids content and titratable acidity. GA also delayed the appearance of gel breakdown in stored fruit.
