FEEDBACK CONTROL OF EVAPORATOR PRESSURE.

Author(s) : BROWNE F. D. II

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES A TEST RIG IN WHICH AN OPEN-DRIVE R12 COMPRESSOR IS BELT-DRIVEN FROM A MOTOR THE SPEED OF WHICH IS CONTROLLED FROM A SUCTION PRESSURE TRANSDUCER. THE SYSTEM HAS OPERATED FOR 68 HOURS DURING WHICH TIME THE SUCTION PRESSURE HAS REMAINED VERY STABLE. THERE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN NO VARIATION OF THE ELECTRICAL HEAT INPUT TO THE COIL IN WATER TANK EVAPORATOR USED. A SHORT TEST HAS ALSO BEEN RUN WITH A SEMI-HERMETIC COMPRESSOR. D.W.H.
